Recommended Resources

Support can take many forms - counselling, books, podcasts, or practical information that helps things feel a little clearer.

These are resources I often recommend, including books I’ve read and people I’ve worked with or trust.

  • Helen Jacobs
Helen is a spiritual teacher and mentor, and has been my own spiritual mentor for many years. Her work has supported me in deepening my intuition, inner awareness and connection to meaning - and I often recommend her as a gentle, grounding resource for women exploring the inner and spiritual dimensions of their lives.

    Her books include:

    • Your Already Know

    • Asking for a Friend

    Cassie Mendoza-Jones
Cassie is a kinesiologist, NLP practitioner, author and coach, and a dear friend. Her work offers thoughtful guidance around self-trust, inner alignment and personal growth, grounded in presence, curiosity and deep listening to the body.

    Her books include:

    • You Are Enough

    • It’s All Good

    • Aligned & Unstoppable

Other Books and Experts To Follow

    • Dr Gabor Mate

    • Dr Nicole Le Pera - The Holistic Psychologist

    • Juliet Allen, Sexologist - Authentic Sex

    • Want - by Gillian Anderson

    • Unbound: A Woman’s Guide To Power - by Kasia Urbaniak

  • Emma Sutherland - Studio You
I’ve worked with Emma for many years — initially as a client through my former business, and now as my own naturopath and nutritionist. She was awarded one of the top naturopaths in Sydney, and her work reflects a deeply integrative approach to health for women and children.

    Naomi Judge

Naomi is a long-time friend, a naturopath and nutritionist who supports women with their health, hormones and cycle across different life stages. Her work is grounded, compassionate and deeply attuned to the realities of women’s bodies — particularly around stress, energy, cycle awareness and hormonal balance.

    Books & Other Experts

    • 365+ Ways to Save the Planet and Your Money at the Same Time by Lottie Dalziel

  • I really value the work of the Gottman Institute, especially their research-based insights into relationships, conflict and how couples can communicate more effectively when things feel tense or stuck.

Two of their books I recommend include:

    • The Seven Principles For Making Marriage Work

    • Eight Dates: to keep your relationship happy, thriving and lasting.

I also recommend learning about your ‘love language’, which can bring clarity to relationship patterns and help make sense of why you and your partner may experience connection differently.

Five Love Languages Revised Edition: The Secret to Love That Lasts - by Gary Chapman

    Other Books

    • Mating in Captivity: Unlocking Erotic Intelligence - by Esther Perel

  • No one really knows what to do when they’re faced with separation or divorce. I remember sitting at my computer, googling what the next steps were and trying to piece things together while everything felt emotionally raw and uncertain.

Alongside my counselling work, I also work as a Separation Consultant with Simple Separation, supporting individuals and couples by providing clear, practical information during this time. My role here is to help you understand your options, outline a clear process for a low-conflict, low-cost separation, and guide you through what comes next.

If you’d like to book a free 30-minute consultation with me as your Separation Consultant to talk through your circumstances and options, you can do so here»

  • As a new mum, I found my support by deep-diving into books, research and voices that spoke to how I wanted to parent. Below are some of the books and experts I recommend - especially for parents who want reassurance, evidence-based guidance, and permission to trust their instincts.

    Sarah Ockwell-Smith

I’ve read most of Sarah’s parenting books for infants and young children, including:

    • How to be a Calm Parent

    • The Gentle Discipline Book

    • The Gentle Eating Book

    • The Gentle Potty Training Book

    • The Starting School Book

    • and Because I Said So

These two books by Sarah were true lifesavers for me during the peak exhaustion of the baby sleep phase. At a time when everyone seemed to be telling me to sleep train, these offered reassurance, evidence-based insight and a much gentler way forward:

    • The Gentle Sleep Book

    • Why Your Baby’s Sleep Matters

    Breastfeeding

Lactation consultants I recommend for breastfeeding support and reliable, evidence-based guidance in the early months and extended breastfeeding stages.

    Raising Boys

    • Mothering our Sons - by Maggie Dent
Maggie also has an amazing podcast and workshop on this topic.

    • Raising Boys - by Steve Biddulph

    • Bringing Up Boys Who Like Themselves - by Kasey Edwards & Christopher Scanlon

    Raising an Only Child

    • Parenting an Only Child: The Joys and Challenges of Raising Your One and Only - by Susan Newman

    • One and Only: The Freedom of Having an Only Child, and the Joy of Being One - by Lauren Sandler

  • The Unexpected Joy of Being Single -by Catherine Gray

A candid, uplifting and research-informed exploration of single life that challenges cultural myths about singledom and offers perspective, humour and insight into embracing independence.

Alonement: How to be alone and absolutely own it - by Francesca Specter (book and podcast)

Conversations that explore alonement - the experience of being alone in a positive, reflective, self-aware way. Offering gentle insight into self-relationship and presence.

  • Betsy Westcott
I’ve worked with Betsy as my financial coach and consultant, particularly in understanding my finances more clearly and building confidence around money and investing. Her approach is practical, empowering and especially supportive during periods of life transition.

    Gemma Mitchell
I’ve also worked with Gemma in navigating my finances as a single mum — learning how to reset, stabilise and plan for the future in a way that feels realistic and sustainable. Her work offers clear, accessible guidance for rebuilding financial confidence after change.

    Gemma’s book:

The Money Reset: Take Control of Your Money and Your Life
