Meet Joanna
I’m Joanna — a counsellor-in-training with a background in psychology, holistic health, and business leadership. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, identity shifts, or a general sense of disconnection.
As a single mum, I understand how complex life can be and how important it is to have space to breathe, feel, and reconnect with your inner resources. My approach is warm, grounded, practical and person-centred - gently guiding you back to what matters most.
Counselling Services & Fees
I'm currently completing my Master of Counselling through the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors and undertaking my placement with the Australian Counselling Service (ACS).
As a student counsellor, my sessions are subsidised, making counselling more affordable and accessible while still offering high-quality care. Individual sessions are $59, or you can purchase a bundle of 3 sessions for $150. (Learn more about ACS here)
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and held online via Zoom. This allows you to access support from the comfort of your own space, wherever you are in the world.
All sessions are supported by regular supervision, which ensures ethical, safe, and effective practice. While I reflect on my work with a qualified supervisor, your identity and personal details remain strictly confidential at all times.
How to Book Your Session

Select your ‘provider’ by scrolling through the list to find my name and photo – Joanna Mitchell.
Choose a day and time that suits you by selecting from my available sessions.
